The Health Practice Commission
The merger of the Health Insurance Commission with the Health Practice Commission took effect on the 1st July, 2008 to form the Department of Health Regulatory Services.
The Health Practice Commission (HPC) over sees the
- Medical and Dental Council (MDC)
- Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Pharmacy Council (PC)
- Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM)
THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REGULATORY SERVICES
DHRS comprising of the Health Practice Commission (“HPC”) and Health Insurance Commission (“HIC”) wishes to inform its valued customers and the general public of the changes to our business process.
Following today’s (March 24, 2020) announcement of our first COVID-19 case without travel history, suggesting that we now have evidence of transmission of the virus within our community, the Cayman Islands is preparing to transition to “Level 4” in our pandemic response.
Given this, the DHRS wishes to advise that our offices will be closed as of tomorrow, Wednesday, 25th March, 2020 until Monday, April 6, 2020 or otherwise directed by the Cayman Islands Government.
